Feb. 23, 2007

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern University Director of Athletics Mark Murphy announced Friday the resignation of cross country coach Amy Tush.

A search for a new coach will begin immediately.

"I would like to thank Amy for her contributions to Northwestern University and our women's cross country program the past six years," Murphy said. "We wish her and her family the best."

Tush guided the Wildcats for six seasons. In 2002, her second at the helm, Northwestern advanced to the NCAA Championships for the second time in school history. In her first season, the Wildcats finished sixth at the Big Ten Championships and seventh at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships.
