Wildcats Compete Against Nation's Best at Pre-National Invitational

EVANSTON, Ill.--Northwestern's cross country team placed 31st today in the 6,000 meter white race of the 2005 Pre-National Invitational at the LaVern Gibson Championship course in Terre Haute, Ind. Five other Wildcat runners took part in the open race with a 12th place finish. Michigan won the white race with a team score of 1:45.04. Christine Bolf of Colorado won the individual event with a time of 20:13. Allison King (Fr., Potomac, Mich./Winston Churchill) turned in the top time for the Wildcats in the White race, finishing 137th with a time of 22:33. She was followed by Hilary Forman (Fr., Prairie Village, Kan./Pembroke) who was 154th (22:49) and Celia Franklin (So., Wilmette, Ill./New Trier) who was 166th with a time of 22:55. Jessica Anderson (Sr., Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity) was NU's top finisher in the open race with a time of 23:44. Northwestern is back in action at the Big Ten Championships in Minneapolis Oct. 30.
