CHICAGO -- Behind top-finisher Allison King (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill) in 18th place and Hilary Forman (Prairie Village, Kan./Pembroke) in 23rd, the Northwestern Wildcats finished fifth Saturday at the Loyola Lakefront Invitational.

Celia Franklin (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier), who had been Northwestern's highest finisher the first two races of the year, also scored for Northwestern, finishing 56th overall.

The Wildcats received strong performances from their underclassmen. Forman, a sophomore finished 23rd. She was followed by freshmen Paulina Garcia (Streamwood, Ill./Streamwood) in 32nd and Britta Helwig (Chicago, Ill./Luther North) in 51st overall.

"We are going to be a very different team our next race," head coach Amy Tush said. "Our finishing order is different from what it's been and we're overcoming some hardships, but we're still adjusting to new team members and we'll look a lot better next time."

The Wildcats return to action Saturday Oct. 14 in two races. Part of the squad will be in Terre Haute, Ind. for the Pre-Nationals and the other part will be in Lake Forest, Ill. for the Forester Invitational.
