EVANSTON, Ill. Celia Franklin (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier) was Northwestern's top finisher as the Wildcats took the team title at the Toledo Invitational hosted by the University of Toledo. Franklin finished sixth overall with a time of 18:58 and the last Wildcat to score finished in the 13th position. "We competed well as a team today," head coach Amy Tush said. "The gap between our runners is what will prove our success and that is what won the race today." Behind Franklin, sophomores Allison King (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill) and Hilary Forman (Praierie Village, Kan./Pembroke) finished in the ninth and tenth positions respectively. A duo of freshman scored for the 'Cats as Paulina Garcia (Streamwood, Ill./Streamwood) and Britta Helwig (Chicag, Ill./Luther North) occupied the 11th and 13th spots. The Wildcats finished above a trio of MAC schools in Buffalo, Toledo and Eastern Michigan, who took second through forth. Manhattan College rounded out the top-5. In other action, another section of cross country finished eighth at the Midwest Collegiate Open hosted by UW-Parkside. The 'Cats return to action September 30 in Chicago when they head to the Loyola Lakefront Invitational.
