EVANSTON, Ill. - The Big Ten announced the fall 2004 Academic All-Big Ten teams, and five volleyball players were honored.

Senior Drew Robertson (Long Beach, Calif./Long Beach Poly) earned the distinction for the third time in her career. Junior Lizzie Carlson (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) snagged the honor for the second-consecutive year. And in their first season eligible for the honor, sophomores Lauren Greenwood (Brentwood, Tenn./Brentwood), Julie Purcell (Louisville, Ky./Assumption) and Stephanie Jurivich (LaGrange, Ill./St. Ignatius) each earned the academic distinction.

To earn Academic All-Big Ten recognition, an athlete must be in his/her second year at the institution, letter in his/her sport, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.

In five years as Northwestern's head coach, Keylor Chan's athletes have been honored a total of 34 times.
