EVANSTON, Ill. -- Seven volleyball student-athletes have earned Academic All-Big Ten honors as announced by the Big Ten Conference office Wednesday.

The number of honorees is the program's largest since 2002. A total of 56 NU fall athletes earned the award.

Senior Lizzie Carlson is the Wildcats' lone three-time award winner, while juniors Lauren Greenwood and Julie Purcell along with redshirt sophomore Stephanie Jurivich earned their second-career Academic All-Big Ten laurals.

To earn Academic All-Big Ten recognition, an athlete must be in his/her second year at the institution, letter in his/her sport, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
