EVANSTON, Ill. -- Senior Lindsay Anderson (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier) and freshman Brittani Gray (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore) combined for 36 kills and a pair of double-doubles Friday night in a Northwestern sweep of Western Michigan at the Wildcat Classic, 30-15, 30-22, 30-23.

Anderson matched her season high with 20 kills while contributing 10 digs, and Gray had a career-high 16 kills to go along with 11 digs for the 'Cats, who moved to 8-2 on the year and 2-0 in the Wildcat Classic with the win. The Broncos' loss dropped them to 7-5 on the season, 0-2 in the event.

Game one was all Northwestern, with the Wildcats gradually taking a 13-point lead, 20-7. Western Michigan really never challenged in the game, and NU went on to win, 30-15. Anderson had five kills and a .625 hitting percentage (5-0-8) and Sabel Moffett (Temecula, Calif./Chaparral) had four kills and a .667 percentage (4-0-6) in the game for NU.

With the Wildcats trailing, 11-8, in game two, Northwestern ripped off a 13-4 run featuring three kills each from Anderson and Gray. The Wildcats then pulled away for a 30-22 victory.

Anderson had seven kills in game two, while Moffett was a perfect 4-for-4 on the attack.

Northwestern again jumped out in front early in game three, eventually building a nine-point lead, 18-9. Western Michigan pulled back within five, 20-15, to force an NU timeout, but three kills each from Anderson and Gray helped the Wildcats run away with the game, capping a 30-23 victory with a Chelsy Hyser (Belvidere, Ill./Belvidere) termination.

Northwestern hit .459 (21-4-37) as a team in game three and .349 overall in the match. Western Michigan hit .083 as a squad, becoming the fifth-consecutive opponent to fail to reach a .100 hitting percentage against the 'Cats.

Moffett finished with a career-best .667 hitting percentage (9-1-12), while Anderson hit .459 (20-3-37) and Hyser hit .400 (7-1-15). Freshman setter Elyse Glab (Chicago, Ill./Resurrection) compiled 47 assists, and sophomore libero Kate Nobilio (Johnsburg, Ill./Johnsburg) had a match-high 20 digs.

Senior Courtnie Paulus (Belgium, Wis./Ozaukee) contributed 10 digs and seven kills, leaving her seven shy of 1,000 for her career entering Saturday afternoon's Wildcat Classic finale at 2:30 p.m. against Saint Louis.
