EVANSTON, Ill. -- After picking up two more wins against top-10 opponents last weekend, Northwestern is ranked No. 1 in this week's ITA rankings. This is the first No. 1 ranking in program history and the first for any Big Ten team. NU is the seventh team in the last 20 years to be ranked No. 1 and is the first Northern school to achieve the top spot.

Last weekend, Northwestern defeated No. 5 North Carolina and No. 8 Duke on the road to improve its record to 7-1 against teams in the top-10. Georgia Tech, the previous No. 1, fell to fourth-ranked Georgia last weekend, and both schools are tied for second this week.

NU joins Duke, Georgia, Florida, Georgia Tech, USC, Stanford and Texas as the only schools in the last 20 years to be ranked No. 1.
