April 9, 2007

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Freshman Lauren Delaney (Jefferson City, Mo./Helias) earned two wins last week to remain perfect on the season with a 15-0 record, and picked up her second Big Ten Pitcher of the Week honor in the process.

Delaney began last week with a seven-strikeout performance in a 6-1 win Tuesday against Northern Illinois. She surrendered just three hits and one unearned run in the contest.

She then picked up the win in the back end of Northwestern's doubleheader Sunday at Indiana, allowing one run on two hits with 10 strikeouts.

The first NCAA national statistics report will be released tomorrow, Tuesday, April 10, and then it will be known where Delaney's undefeated start to the 2007 season ranks among her peers in the nation.
