EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern's new Lakeside Field has lights and is ready to host its first night game.

Both of Northwestern's soccer contests this weekend are scheduled to be played under the lights as the women's team closes its regular season at 7 p.m. Friday against Wisconsin and the men's team hosts Green Bay in its final regular-season match at 5 p.m. Saturday evening.

FieldTurf, the company responsible for the playing surface, has informed Northwestern the field has received a FIFA 2-Star Certification -- making it the first field installed by FieldTurf to receive such a distinction.

Lakeside Field is also home to Northwestern's three-time defending national champion women's lacrosse team. Its quest for a fourth straight championship begins this February.

Watch the raising of a light pole on the west end of the stadium.
