Built in 1997 at a cost of $3.5 million, Leonard B. Thomas Sports Complex is one of the premier college venues in the United States and is home to the Wildcat field hockey, women's lacrosse, and men's and women's soccer teams.

Located on the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan - with the world famous Chicago Skyline serving as a panoramic backdrop - the complex includes an artificial turf playing field lined specifically for field hockey, and a grass field for the soccer and women's lacrosse programs. Both fields contain permanent seating for approximately 300 fans, as well as a new sound system, permanent scoreboards, lighting for night games on the turf field, and extensive landscaping.

The installment of the complex at the north end of Northwestern's main campus brings Wildcat teams closer to where the students live, and has attracted additional fans to the team's games. On the many sunny days during the fall and spring, the stands are packed to beyond capacity and fans often spill over onto the sidelines.

Northwestern is proud to call Leonard B. Thomas Sports Complex "home," as it is truly one of the best and most picturesque facilities in the country.
