EVANSTON, Ill. -- Senior Kristen Kjellman (Westwood, Mass./Westwood) was honored Tuesday by the American Lacrosse Conference (ALC), picking up player of the week honors in recognition of her outstanding performance over the weekend in wins over No. 8 Syracuse and No. 19 Connecticut. The honor is the second of the season for the three-time all-American.

Kjellman further solidified herself in the Northwestern record books on Friday against Syracuse as her three points made her Northwestern's all-time points leader with 290, breaking the old mark of 289 set back in 1987. She totaled nine points (6g, 3a) over the weekend, with two goals and one assist Friday and four goals and two dishes on Sunday against UConn. She now has 296 points entering Saturday's game with Duke.

Against Syracuse she added three draw controls, three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Against Connecticut, Kjellman added five draw controls as the Wildcats defeated their second consecutive top 20 opponent in three days.

Kjellman leads the 'Cats with 25 goals and is tied for second on the team with 37 points. She and the top-ranked 'Cats go up against No. 4 Duke at 1 p.m. CT on Saturday in Evanston.
