EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern Director of Golf Pat Goss has announced the signing of a pair of elite women's golfers -- Kylie Fuller (Temecula, Calif./Chaparral) and Alexandra Lederhausen (Hinsdale, Ill./Hinsdale Central) -- to National Letters of Intent.

Fuller is ranked 22nd by Junior Golf Scoreboard and the AJGA, and 28th for her class by Golfweek Magazine. She is a 2006 American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) HP Scholastic All-American. (The HP Scholastic All-American team consists of 12 young men and 12 young women who demonstrate the ability to excel both on the golf course and in the classroom.)

Since 2005, Fuller has notched five top-five and eight top-10 finishes in AJGA tournaments, including a pair of third-place showings. She finished third in the medal play portion of the AJGA Polo Golf Junior Classic in November, 2006, winning two matches in match play and advancing to the quarterfinals.

Having served as captain and MVP of her high school squad all four years, Fuller was honored as the 2006 CIF Champion of Character and was a California state finalist for Wendy's High School Heisman Award.

Lederhausen, younger sister of current NU freshman Rebecca Lederhausen, captured the 2006 IHSA Class AA state championship. She had three top-10 finishes in national AJGA tournaments this summer, with her top showing, a second-place finish, coming at the Midwest Junior Players Championship.

In 2005 and 2006, Lederhausen had six additional top-10 finishes in AJGA tournaments.

In addition to her golf successes, Lederhausen is a National Honor Society member and tutor. She also is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars and received the West Suburban Conference Academic Achievement Award.

"Kylie and Alex are great representatives of what we look for as both students and golfers who have had great success athletically and been very committed academically. Just as important, though, they both have a contagious enthusiasm and boundless energy for golf and Northwestern University," said Goss.

The new Wildcats will take to the links in the fall of 2008.
