EVANSTON, Ill. -- Coming off a third-place finish at the Big Ten Championships in East Lansing, Mich., Northwestern returns to Michigan for the NCAA Central Regional Championships in Ann Arbor. The Wildcats, who have made the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships seven of the past eight years, will be looking to reach the NCAA National Championships for the first time since 2000.

Led by a trio of seniors, NU garnered the 12th-seed in a Central Regional field that includes Big Ten foes Michigan State, Ohio State, Michigan and Indiana. The 'Cats are ranked No. 36 in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin index.

NU is one of 63 teams in the Championships' field. Teams are spread across three 21-team regional tournaments: East, Central and West. All three regionals are scheduled to be played May 10-12.

The top eight teams and the top two individuals (not on one of those eight teams) from each region will advance to the NCAA Championships, which will be held May 22-25 at the LPGA International Legends Course in Daytona Beach, Fla.
