EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Northwestern's women's golf team turned in one of the top 10 team rounds on Saturday, but it was not enough to lift the Wildcats into a top-eight finish and a trip to next weekend's national championships in Washington. Shooting a 16-over 304 on the final day, the Wildcats moved from 18th to 14th place and finished with a 99-over 963 for the three rounds.

Tulsa fired a third-round-best 290 on the final day to overtake Ohio State and Kent State to win the team title. Ohio State finished in a second-place tie with Texas. The Golden Flashes, who owned the lead through the first two rounds, fired a 24-over 312 and dropped to ninth place.

Michigan State, the host school, shot a 7-over 295 on Saturday and gained the eighth and final spot. The Spartans and Buckeyes join Purdue and Michigan as Big Ten schools advancing to the next round.

Individually, NU was led by sophomore Lauren Grzebien (Saunderstown, R.I./Narragansett), who shot a 4-over 76 on Saturday. She finished at 22-over (78-84-76=238) and tied for 49th place. Classmate Hana Kim (Encino, Calif./Brentwood) fired a 5-over 77 for the final round (82-81-77=240) and placed two strokes behind Grzebien, tied for 53rd place.

Junior Elizabeth Burden (Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest) shot a team-best 3-over 75 on Sunday and finished at 26-over (83-84-75=242) in 63rd place. Freshman Ina Kim (Encino, Calif./Harvard-Westlake) (82-85-76=243) and senior Emily Gilley (Flossmoor, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) (88-86-77=251) rounded out NU's contingent, placing 68th and 91st, respectively.

Tulsa's Stacy Prammanasudh was the individual medalist, shooting 3-over (71-77-71=219).
