BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. -- Northwestern's 32nd-ranked women's golf team fell back five spots to 13th in the Bryan National Collegiate tournament team standings on Saturday, but is still in position to finish in the top half of the 17-team tournament. The Wildcats are just four strokes behind ninth-place North Carolina.
Senior Emily Gilley (Flossmoor, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) maintained her steady play, shooting a 75 for the second straight day. She is tied for 21st in the individual race at 6-over-par.
The Kim sisters, who helped the Wildcats to an eighth-place showing on Friday, both had sub-par second-round outings. Freshman Ina Kim (Encino, Calif./Harvard-Westlake) shot a 79 and is tied for 47th (+10) overall. Sophomore Hana Kim (Encino, Calif./Brentwood) fired an 11-over-par 83 on Saturday and now sits 59th (+13).
Junior Elizabeth Burden (Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest) shared individual scoring honors with Gilley on Saturday, shooting a 75. She is 16-over-par for the tourney.
Second-ranked Duke maintained its first-day lead and owns a 10-stroke advantage over Ohio State. Georgia's Angela Jerman is the individual leader with 7-under-par 137.
The event, which is co-hosted by Wake Forest and UNC Greensboro, is being held at the Bryan Park Champions Golf Club.
