Allison Finney Position: Assistant Coach

Allison Finney joined the Northwestern women's golf program in September 2007.

A 24-year veteran of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), Finney has competed in a total of 12 U.S. Open events and was the winner of the 1989 Standard Register Turquoise Open. In all, she has 21 career top-10 finishes to her credit, including top-five finishes at the LPGA Championship in 1985 and 1989. She has served as a golf instructor at Eldorado Country Club in Indian Wells, Calif., since Nov. 2002.

"The addition of Allison Finney to our program will put Northwestern in a elite class of schools who can offer a educated gateway to professional golf," Regenberg said. "Her experience as a decorated LPGA player and collegiate player, along with her post on the LPGA Executive Committee and as former president of the LPGA Players Association, will give tremendous insight to what it takes to be successful as a collegiate player and as a touring professional. Our players are eager to measure their games against hers and to learn from her vast experiences and teaching knowledge."

Finney has been on the Legends Tour since Jan. 2003 and ranks 22nd on the tour's career money list. She graduated from Stanford University in 1980 with a B.A. in economics and psychology and competed for the Cardinal women's golf program. Originally a native of Winnetka, Ill., Finney attended New Trier High School.
