2007 Fall Academic All-Big Ten Release

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern earned a school-record 68 Academic All-Big Ten accolades, including eight from the field hockey team during the 2007 fall season.

The total tops last year's seven honorees and was tied for the third highest total in the sport since 1992, when it earned nine. The award is the fourth for senior Christina Foley (Cape Elizabeth, Maine/Cape Elizabeth), third for senior Katie Charles (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) and second for junior Emily Kyle (San Francisco, Calif./San Francisco University H.S.).

To earn Academic All-Big Ten recognition, an athlete must be in his/her second year at the institution, letter in his/her sport and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.

Following are the Northwestern field hockey student-athletes honored for the fall season:
