Nov. 18, 2002

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern senior field hockey player, Lindsey Millard (St. Louis, Mo./Mary Institute Country Day) was selected to the 2002 Second Team West Region All-Region Team, as voted on by region coaches. Millard is the 35th Wildcat to receive the distinction and the first since Jessica Yates in 2000.

One of NU's defensive leaders this season, Millard started every game at her backfield position but managed to get forward enough to find the back of the net four times, good for second on the team. Among those four goals are three game-winners (New Hampshire, SW Missouri State and Providence). Millard also recorded three assists as part of NU's offensive penalty corner team.

Named Second-team All-Big Ten and part of the Big Ten All-Tournament Team, Millard was the only Wildcat to receive the distinction.
