EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern will host Kent State and Iowa beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday in a spring tournament at the Triniens indoor facility adjacent to Nicolet. The event had been scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at the Leonard B. Thomas Athletic Complex, but weather forecasts have forced it indoors.

Teams will compete against each other in 35-minute half games. This will be the first live action under new NU head coach Kelly McCollum, who took over for Marisa Didio following the conclusion of last season.

"This is our first opportunity as a squad to play against outside competition," McCollum said. "It will be good to see what stage our team is at after winter training."

Northwestern compiled a 9-9 overall record last year, its most wins since 1996 and its first .500 or better season since 1995.

The tournament is scheduled to conclude at 6 p.m.
