EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern has earned the 2004 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) National Academic Team Award. The honor goes to programs with a team GPA of 3.0 of higher.

NU is one of 52 programs nationwide in Division I to earn the award.

Five Wildcats were named to the 2004 NFHCA National Academic Squad: juniors Holly Palin (Mequon, Wis./University School of Milwaukee) and Megan Sieberg (Toledo, Ohio/Maumee Valley Country Day); sophomores Lauren Przyborowski (River Forest, Ill./Oak Park River Forest) and Meghan Small (Bethlehem, Pa./Moravian Academy); and freshman Katie Charles (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington).

Northwestern finished the 2004 season with a 7-13 record under first-year head coach Kelly McCollum.
