NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Northwestern's women's fencing team wrapped up its dual meet season Saturday by posting a perfect 7-0 record at the Notre Dame Duals.

The seven victories allowed the Wildcats to finish the 2007-08 campaign with an impressive 36-4 mark. The 36 wins tie the school record originally set a year ago.

Northwestern opened competition Saturday with a 22-5 win over Michigan, followed by a 27-0 blanking of Michigan State.

The Wildcats continued to dominate by dismantling Cleveland State 26-1 prior to downing Wayne State 21-6.

NU wrapped up the meet with a 23-4 victory over Detroit, a 16-11 defeat of Florida and a second shutout of the day in a 27-0 white-washing of Oberlin.

The Wildcats will be back in action next weekend when they participate in USFA Junior National Olympics in Charlotte, N.C.
