EVANSTON, Ill. -- After serving as the Wildcats' assistant director of operations last season, Carol Duncan was named an assistant coach by head coach Beth Combs on May 14, 2007.

"We are excited that Carol is becoming a full time coach," Combs said. "The transition into the role was an easy one and the whole program is excited to have her on the floor. Being a former Big Ten athlete, she brings the knowledge and know-how of how to win in this league and it will be an asset to have her coaching our post players."

Duncan was a four-year forward at Purdue from 2002-06. A three-time Academic All-Big Ten performer, Duncan played in 122 games during her career. The Boilermakers made the NCAA Tournament in each of her four years, including two appearances in the Sweet 16 and one trip to the Elite Eight.

She earned her bachelor's degree in english and minors in communications, psychology, history, and women's studies in May 2006. She is currently working on her master's degree in sports administration at Northwestern.

Duncan worked as an instructor at the Purdue Women's Basketball Camp and as a personal assistant for State Farm Insurance prior to joining the Wildcat staff.
