INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- A.J. Glasauer scored a team-high 13 points in her final game as a Wildcat, but her effort was not enough as Northwestern fell to Minnesota, 60-43, in the opening round of the Big Ten Tournament on Thursday night. The Wildcats wrap up the season with an 8-22 overall mark.

"We are very disappointed in our performance today," head coach Beth Combs said. "We expected to do a better job and have a different outcome. We have a great group of women and we are proud of what they have done this season and look forward to the future."

Scoring was scarce for both teams in the early going, as there were just 10 points scored through the first four minutes. Minnesota mustered a 14-4 lead with 13 minutes remaining in the half only to have a 3-pointer by Kristin Cartwright (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) cut the lead to single digits with just under 10 minutes remaining.

The Wildcats kept the game within reach, trailing 27-16 at the half.

Minnesota opened the second half outscoring NU 8-4 over the first six minutes to build a 15-point advantage. The Gophers continued to apply offensive pressure, increasing the difference to as many as 24 before NU closed the gap to 17 to end the game.

Sara Stutz (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) led the Wildcats on the boards, pulling down nine rebounds to accompany seven points. Cartwright also turned in a solid performance, grabbing six boards and contributing eight points.

Glasauer (Freiburg, Germany/Theodor-Heuss Gymnasium) also added three assists and three steals to go along with her 13 points.
