Sophomore Eric Metzler joined Precin in the quarterfinals on the strength of an 8-2 victory over Ben Hart (Chicago), and a 6-4 decision against Jeff Shutich of Central Michigan. Metzler also received a bye to begin the tournament at 133 lbs.

At 141 lbs., redshirt freshman Keith Sulzer took a 4-2 victory against Michael Bonora (Rhode Island) in the second round and a 5-0 decision against Danny Song (Hawk WC). Sulzer faces second-seeded Zach Bailey (Oklahoma) in the evening session.
