EVANSTON, Ill. -- With the 2005-06 season in the books, Northwestern's wrestling team will hold its annual wrestling banquet at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 6 at the Prairie Moon Restaurant. The Wildcats invite you to join in the festivities and help recognize and celebrate a great season of Northwestern wrestling. The event is open to the public and reservations can be made using the above link. The cost is $25 per person.

Dinner will be served during the banquet while wrestlers, coaches and friends of the program will take time to highlight some of this year's achievements, including:

• Three All-American wrestlers - Jake Herbert (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny), Ryan Lang (North Royalton, Ohio/St. Edward) and John Velez (Kings Mills, Ohio/Kings) - the most since 1998.
• Seven NCAA qualifiers, the most in the program's 78-year history.
• A 13th-place finish at the 2006 NCAA Championships, NU's best showing since 1990.
• A fifth-place Big Ten finish.
• First dual meet win over in-state foe Illinois in 10 seasons.
• Five Big Ten wins.

The Wildcats also will recognize their six seniors - Matt Delguyd (Mayfield Heights, Ohio/Mayfield), Will Durkee (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shady Side Academy), Joseph Gulotta (Meraux, La./Brother Martin), Jimmy Kim (East Peoria, Ill./East Peoria Community), Daniel Quintela (St. Paul, Minn./Highland Park) and Velez -- who will leave the team after their hard work and dedication to the program helped NU to Big Ten and national prominence over the last four years.

The Prairie Moon Restaurant is located at 1502 Sherman Avenue, in Evanston, Ill.

RSVPs must be received by Monday, May 1 to reserve space.
