Andrew Pariano was named as an assistant coach prior to the 2005-06 season. Pariano, a former Northwestern wrestler, assists in the day-to-day operations of the program.

In two seasons at NU, Pariano has coached 13 NCAA Qualifiers, seven NCAA All-Americans, four Big Ten Champions, three NCAA Finalists and helped the Wildcats earn fourth place at the 2007 NCAA Championships.

Pariano came to Evanston from Cornell College, where he served as head wrestling coach for two seasons. While at Cornell, Pariano compiled two talented recruiting classes, with three of his freshmen from the 2004-05 season winning more than 25 matches. His efforts also earned Cornell an invite to the NWCA National Duals, a prestigious annual event that attracts the top 16 dual meet teams in the nation.

Before working at Cornell, Pariano worked as an assistant wrestling coach at John Carroll University. He helped the Blue Streaks win two Ohio Athletic Conference titles and place in the top 25 of the NCAA Championships. He also coached six wrestlers to All-American status.

In 2006 and 2007, Pariano remained active by coaching at the World Team Trials. He also served as the director for the 2006 FILA Cadet and University Nationals. In 2006, Pariano was a coach for the Ohio Junior National Dual team that took third place in the nation.

Pariano was also responsible for taking the Northwestern wrestling camps on the road for the first time in program history. The annual camp is held at Lake Catholic High School in Mentor, Ohio.

Pariano was a three-time Division I national wrestling qualifier and four-year starter for the Wildcats. He qualified for the NCAA national tournament in 1997 and 1998 at 150 pounds and in 1999 at 165 pounds. He was a three-time Big Ten Scholar Athlete, an Academic All-American and a Midlands Tournament placewinner.

In high school, he was a three-time Ohio state champion at Fairview Park High School. Pariano was twice named Outstanding Wrestler at the state tournament and was also an Asics Tiger, Junior National, USA Wrestling and Amateur Wrestling News high school All-American.

Pariano received a bachelor's degree in education and social policy from Northwestern in 2000 and a master's degree in communication management from John Carroll in 2003.
