EVANSTON, Ill. -- Sophomore diver Mike Oxman (Brown Deer, Wis./Nicolet) will attempt to qualify for the NCAA Championships at the Zone Qualifying Meet in Bloomington, Ind., this weekend.

The winner on the 1-meter, 3-meter and platform boards will advance to the NCAA Championships next weekend, March 25-27, along with the top three point scorers who do not capture an individual board title. Six total divers will advance.

"Mike's best discipline is the platform," NU head coach Bob Groseth said. "If he does well on that, even if he does not win it, he'll have a high point total and a better chance to advance."

Oxman took seventh place in the platform at the Big Ten Championships this year. He placed eighth in the event a year ago at the NCAA "C" meet.

Competition begins tomorrow, March 12, with the 3-meter board and concludes Sunday.
