EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern junior Jeremy Cook (Hudson, Wis./Hudson) has earned second-team Verizon Academic All-America honors. Cook, an Academic All-Big Ten athlete, garnered All-District honors earlier this month.

Cook started all 20 games this season as a midfielder for the NU men's soccer team and has made 37 consecutive starts, dating to the 2001 season-opener. He had a team-best three assists. As one the 'Cats' strongest defenders, Cook held the top three scorers in the Big Ten (Pat Noonan, Chad Severs and Mychal Turpin) without a goal.

Cook walked on to the team during the 2000 season when he saw action in three games. He was one of two Big Ten men's soccer players to receive the honor.
