EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern's men's soccer team, the No. 9 overall seed, will host a second-round match Wednesday, Nov. 28 against Illinois-Chicago which defeated Saint Louis in penalty kicks Friday, Nov. 23. The game will be held at Lakeside Field with kickoff set for 7 p.m.

"We had hoped for maybe as high as a No. 7 seed, but it's another first for the program to be seeded and in the single digits," said Northwestern head coach Tim Lenahan. "How you measure the progress of the program is how we improve and certainly this is the best regular season that we've had.

"You work for three months to see your name up on the board and when it comes up it's always a special feeling."

Northwestern is very familiar with UIC (11-5-6), as the teams had met during the regular season for 17 consecutive years prior to not facing one another this year. The Flames lead the all-time series with the Wildcats 12-7-2.

On the other side of the bracket, Creighton is the No. 8 seed and will face SMU which defeated Gonzaga on Saturday.

Boston College is the No. 1 seed and is the potential quarterfinal round opponent for Northwestern should it win its first two games.
