EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern senior Jeremy Cook has been awarded a postgraduate scholarship by the NCAA. To qualify for an NCAA postgraduate scholarship, a student-athlete must have an overall grade-point average of 3.20 and must have performed with distinction as a member of the varsity team in the sport in which the student-athlete was nominated.

Cook is a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American selection. He was a member of the first team in 2003 and a second-team selection in 2002.

A senior with a 3.96 grade point average, Cook started all 20 matches for the Wildcats this season as midfielder and drew starting assignments in 57 straight games, beginning with his sophomore season.

Cook was named to the 2003 Big Ten All-Tournament team after helping the 'Cats pick up their first win against a conference opponent since 1999.

A former walk-on, Cook quickly became one of the conference's most respected defenders. As a junior, he held the Big Ten's top three scorers without a point.
