EVANSTON, Ill. -- With its 33-27 overtime victory against Ohio State, Northwestern was tabbed the FedEx Orange Bowl National Team of the Week, as selected by the pollsters of the Football Writers Association of American (FWAA) Grantland Rice Super 16 Poll.

The win ended a 24-game losing streak to OSU that covered 33 years. It also marked the Wildcats' first win in Evanston since 1958. The FWAA has named a national team of the week since the 2002 season. This is the first season that the award has been sponsored by the FedEx Orange Bowl.

For more information, go to www.footballwriters.com or www.orangebowl.org. Sports Illustrated's web site, SI.com, also named the Wildcats its team of the week.
