EVANSTON, Ill. -- Erryn Cobb signed a free-agent contract today with the Green Bay Packers, as announced by Ted Thompson, executive vice president, general manager and director of football operations.

Cobb, a four-year letterwinner and team co-captain in 2006, played in 49 career games for the Wildcats. He began his career in 2003 as a linebacker before moving to fullback in 2004.

Cobb was the team's starting tight end in 2005 and played `superback,' a combination of tight end and fullback, as a senior in 2006.

The 6-foot-1, 241-pound player also blocked two punts in 2006. He will wear No. 25.
