Kids in the 8th grade and under can go on the field before select Wildcat Softball games to hi-five the team during starting lineups!

Under head coach Kate Drohan, the Wildcat Softball Team has emerged as one top softball teams in the country. The 'Cats finished third at the College World Series in 2007 and second at the World Series in 2006! Cheer on the 'Cats at their home games every spring at Sharon J. Drysdale Field, which is located just a few steps from Ryan Field (1501 Central Street). Parking and admission is free. Tailgating is permitted in select lots before the game.

Plus, when you attend select Wildcat Softball Games:

* you might be chosen to compete in contests to win food from Hecky's BBQ in Evanston and Chipotle in Evanston
* you have a chance to win Chicago White Sox tickets compliments of U.S. Cellular
* you might catch a Wildcat T-shirt during the T-shirt Toss
* if you are in the 8th grade and under you can go on the field before the game to hi-five the players during starting lineups
* you can meet the team after the game
* arrive early to receive the Wildcat giveaway
* you might be chosen to lead the Wildcat Fight Song during the 5th Inning Stretch
* if you are in the 8th grade and under you might be chosen to run the bases after the game

The Wildcats have lots of special events planned for Wildcat Softball games each year. For Scout Day 2007, members of the Wildcat Women's Basketball Team (Sara Stutz is pictured above) sat in the "Scout Section" with the troops to teach them the rules of softball, the words to the NU Fight Song, how to keep score and more! The scouts also were on the field before the game to hi-five the Wildcat players and then ran the bases with the team after the game!

Chipotle in Evanston is the sponsor of the BIG Games for 16 of the Wildcats' varsity sports. Each team picks the BIG Game for the season and Chipotle gives away 50 free burrito coupons to the first 50 NU students into the game. Plus, one lucky student walks away with a quarter's supply of Chipotle burritos!

At the Wildcat Softball BIG Game in 2007, Chipotle gave away a YEAR'S supply of Chipotle burritos to the winning team of the Bean Bag Tournament that was held before the game. Plus, the first 50 NU students into the game received a free burrito coupon compliments of Chipotle.	All NU students were invited to compete in the Chipotle Bean Bag Tournament in 2007 ... and you may recognize one of the competitors pictured above, Wildcat quarterback C.J. Bacher.
