On a crystal clear November day at Lakeside Field, Northwestern junior midfielder Jack Hillgard gave NU a 2-0 lead with a pair of timely headers and the 'Cats went on to defeat Notre Dame, 3-1, in the second round of the NCAA Championship Sunday in Evanston. Classmate Piero Bellizzi scored NU's third goal as the Wildcats eliminated the Irish from postseason play for the second consecutive season. More

Balanced Offensive Attack Leads NU to 78-58 Win Over IPFW

Amy Jaeschke (pictured) made good on a layup a minute and a half into the game and Northwestern never relinquished the lead, besting IPFW, 78-58, Sunday afternoon at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Jaeschke led all scorers with 18 points and nine rebounds while freshman Kendall Hackney added 12 points and sophomore Maggie Mocchi chipped in 10. Ten Wildcats found the scoring column as the team improves to 3-0 on the season. It is the program's best start since the 2006-07 campaign. More

Kafka, Demos Earn Big Ten Conference Player of the Week Honors
